Where It All Started

Lopifit/The Walking Bike, was born when the inventor was a little frustrated that his treadmill could not really be used outdoors. While he was capable and enjoyed a traditional seated peddle bicycle, like millions of others it simple was not comfortable for long distances and there were some negative physical and health challenges that come with riding a traditional bicycle. So, he thought to himself, why not make an outdoor mobile treadmill with wheels?

Starting in his own living room, he began to design and build the first Lopifit prototype. By the way, the word Lopifit is combination of three words; the for walk in Dutch is Lopen. Thus the LO part. The PI comes from the mathematical equation and FIT comes from the desire to get and stay fit and healthy. Lopifit is pronounced as Low Pie Fit.

After several modifications and trying alternate parts to make the ride easy, stable, safe, healthy and FUN, The Walking Bike was born. The bike was then patented and production began. His wife loved it so much she had him make a pink bike just for here.

The Walking Bike is a totally new way of moving. With the electric assist, it takes no more effort to ride than “a walk in the park”. The electric assist, greatly increases the speed and distance one can achieve when compared to a traditional bicycle yet you are walking at your regular walking pace.

The Evolution

From the prototype in 2015 to the introduction of the 2025 Type 4 model, the Walking Bike continues to be updated with more features to improve your riding experience.
